A little update…

Firstly hello! I apologise for my lack of posting recently, I’ve been ridiculously busy.

I thought I would write a post to update you on the past few weeks because they’ve been crazy. Very up and down too!

Two weeks ago I ended up in hospital, again. I had pnemounia for the third time in a year! Obviously I wasn’t feeling very well but all the doctors and nurses both at the hospital and my GP surgery were incredible. Thankfully this time, it was caught earlier. As I write this the infection has clear I just have a little bit of pleurisy to deal with now.

Whenever I am physically unwell my mental health tends to take a dip but I am slowly recovering and things are beginning to look up!

Those of you who may have read my “About the Author” page, will know that I am a keen horse rider. This week, at my University it was team trials for the Equestrian competition teams. One of my aims for this year was to make it onto a team. I of course, took the opportunity to try out.

There were a lot of individuals trying out, 25, and only 12 places. I must admit that all those that all those riders were very, very good. Due to a number of falls I have had my confidence isn’t what it used to be so I didn’t hold much breath.

I achieved a place on a team!! I am still genuinely surprised and for the first time ever, so proud of myself. When it was my turn to tryout, the horse didn’t particularly like my and threw me off. Not once, twice…. I am incredibly stubborn though, and my old instructor always told me to dust myself off and get back on otherwise I’ll never get on again. So, I got back on and the committee members all said that doing so, benefited me!

I wasn’t hurt, I am proud of myself for getting back on, and for getting on the team! I’ll keep you updated on how things go in competitions, the first one is on the 15th of November!

I have also attended one of the best events that my university offer, doggy destress! I had the best half an hour cuddling the cutest trainee guide dogs. I also had the opportunity to meet individuals whom require assistance from the dogs and listening to them was so interesting!

Jingle the guide dog!

This weekend my beautiful dog is coming up to visit. I am so excited, having this weekend in my calender has quite honestly, helped to keep my sane. It’s been 5 weeks since I last saw my dog and I’ve missed his cuddles and cute face! I’m hoping to make it the best weekend for him because I know I’ll be having the best time.

So yeah, things weren’t great but this week has certainly helped to improve my mood. I am finding purpose and genuine things to look forward to.

My attendance at University hasn’t been the best, mainly because I was in hospital but I’m working on it and I will improve it!

I will be back posting properly soon, the next few weeks are quieter and I have lots of ideas planned.

Thanks for reading. Love to you all.
